There was a time not so long ago when a person daring to parade down a high street unusually attired would elicit general smirking and pointing. These days nobody bats an eyelid, it’s such a familiar occurrence (well it is in London, anyway).

Inspired by the opportunities provided by the new ‘social media’ phenomenon in the mid-noughties, a plethora of ‘spontaneous’ events and flashmobs – all recorded for a potential global audience – set the trend for a blossoming of creative, left-field self-expression.

The exponential growth in popularity of Vintage and Cosplay through a mixture of ironic nostalgia and escapist fantasy have encouraged enormous creativity amongst London’s young socialites, which, during somewhat uncertain times can only be a Good Thing.
