CREATIVES
This was something of a tricky selection to put together: there are an awful lot of people out there being creative in one form or another & I have an awful lot of photographs of people being creative, in all manner of disciplines, from street performers and graffiti artists to sculptors, dancers, musicians and more.
What ties almost all of these performers/practitioners together is that what we are witnessing when we come across these spectacles are people in the process of doing their jobs – this is what they do to earn a living. And although well-funded public events will have secured funds to be able to pay their artists, to the skilled practitioners in the art of street performance, donations from an appreciative audience helps puts food on the table and pays the rent (something which has been particularly difficult recently thanks to the absence of tourists and the dwindling usage of cash).
