GETTING AROUND ON WATER
Since the closure of the London docks and the subsequent (mostly successful) clean up of the Thames, the opportunities to gad-about on the river have increased considerably. There is, of course, quite a lot of river to splash about in: the Great River Race alone covers 21 miles of it. There are now a whole host of opportunities to display your sailing/paddling/rowing prowess in various competitions throughout the year.
Added to that, a rejuvenated docklands and a greater utilization of the city’s extensive canal network means there are now a number of more serene environments in which to relax, compete or just get wet.
